ABOUT THE BUILD

District Cooling Plant 3, also built for Emaar Properties, supplies chilled water to the Business Bay area including both business and residential premises.

Trans Gulf was responsible for the design and development of engineering drawings, plant and material selection, procurement, installation and commissioning and performance validation of the mechanical and electrical chilled water process plant for this district cooling system.

Trans Gulf’s scope of work included the following:

• Design and construction of 2 x 60,000 TR district cooling plants with 8 x 2 lead/lag packaged chiller modules of 5,000 TR in each plant.
• 8 x cooling towers of 5,000 TR
• Associated MV/LV switchgear
• SCADA – plant control and monitoring system
• 7400 cubic meter ground water storage tanks
• Operation and maintenance for two years
