The updated UAE Fire and Life Safety Code was unveiled at the Intersec 2017 exhibition, held in January this year in Dubai.
Lt Taher Hassan Altaher, head of DCD’s inspection and permitting section, had said that the 1,384-page code – 677 pages longer than its 2011 version – has been prepared based on international references and feedback from consultants, contractors, and local property developers such as Emaar and Deyaar.

Trans Gulf hosts supply chain networking event

Trans Gulf recently hosted a Supply Chain Networking event at a hotel in Dubai. The event comprised 150 company representatives from both Al Naboodah Group Enterprises (ANGE) and its supply chain.
The evening kicked off with a presentation on Trans Gulf (TG) by general manager Stuart McGregor. He spoke on areas where the supply chain is required to engage and support the TG business, followed by a report on ANGE Sustainability.
Al Naboodah targets zero injuries by 2020

Al Naboodah Group Enterprises (ANGE) has appointed Rob Munn to the position of general manager of safety, health, environment, and quality.
In his new role, Munn will be responsible for overseeing ANGE’s health, safety, and environmental activities, and ensuring the wellbeing of the group’s 16,000 employees.

It is no secret that Trans Gulf Electro-mechanical has been going through a number of changes over the last 12 to 18 months. The MEP contractor is now wholly-owned by the Al Naboodah Construction Group, resulting in Trans Gulf and Al Naboodah MEP becoming fully amalgamated. In addition, Stuart McGregor was appointed as general manager to oversee the restructuring of the two MEP firms and drive growth and profitability in the new business.

Trans Gulf Electro-mechanical says it pulled in approximately $272m in revenue last year. Its workforce also increased by 5% to just over 3,000 in the same period. The last year has also seen a lot of structural change within the company. Specifically, the amalgamation of two businesses – Trans Gulf and Al Naboodah MEP.
